Stack at the Guardian

Update

There are just a couple of magazine events left at the Guardian this year, with some thoroughly excellent speakers lined up for both.

At the time of writing we have just two tickets remaining for next weekend’s Masterclass in magazine publishing. If you’re thinking of starting your own magazine, or if you want to get some expert help in sharpening up an existing title, this is the weekend for you. With appearances by Simon Esterson and John L Walters from Eye, Danny Miller from Weapons of Reason, Rob Orchard from Delayed Gratification, and UX designer and strategist Esra Gokgoz, we’ll be getting deep into the nitty gritty of magazine making.

Those two tickets are sure to go, so if you’re thinking of coming, book your place now.

Then on Sunday 7 December we’re holding our big year-end ponder, as leading lights from the magazine world come together to deliver a series of lectures on the future of magazine publishing. Again, it’s a fantastic line up, with speakers representing all facets of the publishing industry:

Jeff Campagna from Compass Cultura will explain why the future is digital magazines.

Tom Taylor from Newspaper Club will give his examples of print and digital playing nicely together.

Ian Birch from Hearst UK will give the view from the big brand publishers.

Rob Orchard from Delayed Gratification (again) will show the way for independents.

And William Rowe from Protein will speak about how to make money from publishing in print and digital.

Phew.

It’s going to be an inspiring and entertaining day, and there’s no better way to round off one year of publishing than by looking ahead to what the next year may bring. Tickets are on sale now, and again this one’s set to sell out, so if you’re interested in coming book your place now.
